Mindfulness, Blessing Or Curse?
There is a new buzzword in the world these days, Mindfulness and it mainly refers to mindfulness exercises for anxiety. Mindfulness meditation exercises to be more exact. So what is mindfulness exactly?
Wikipedia’s mindfulness definition is a mental state achieved by focusing one’s awareness, becoming rooted and grounded in the present moment, while calmly acknowledging and accepting one’s feelings, thoughts, and bodily sensations, used as a therapeutic technique. This curiously sounds much like meditation. Well, that is because basically, that is what it is.
There are lots of different types of meditation such as: meditate to relieve stress, mindfulness meditation techniques for anxiety, self-compassion meditations, guided meditations, intuition meditations so forth and so forth. There are different levels of meditation or mindfulness such as mindfulness for beginners, mindfulness for children, mindfulness for teenagers and more.
Regardless of whether you call it meditation or mindfulness the results are beneficial or are they?
Mindfulness Meditation Benefits
If you would like to learn how to meditate step by step you can do so easily. There are lots of websites online where you can learn to meditate for free. I also have a few guided meditations in my free Meditation Starters Kit, which is not really just for beginners, that can help you get started or delve deeper into meditation. I also hold workshops that teach simple ways to meditate to receive the best results for your, physical, mental, emotional and spiritual wellbeing.

What Is Mindfulness Meditation And Will It Make Us Ill?
The audio recording of this radio show included in this post discusses an article I found, online, in the Guardian, a United Kingdom paper. It speaks to mindfulness benefits and if whether or not there actually are any. Within the podcast, we talk about some firsthand experiences of people having adverse reactions to this practice I also debunk some of these testimonies. If you are considering starting a personal practice you may want to consider some of her comments. We also discuss the differences between this new practice and meditation.
I truly believe that meditation of any sort is beneficial to the individual. There are so many benefits. Here a just a few:
- Grounding– You are able to send negative energy into the earth eliminating the negativity that goes along with it.
- Centering– Meditation allows you to center your mind and create better focus.
- Spiritual Connection– Meditation enables you to connect with the true being that you are which is Spirit.
- Psychic Connection– Meditation helps you awaken and advance you psychic abilities and intuitive senses.
- Physical Benefits– Meditation will enhance your health in such ways as lowering stress and anxiety levels which in turn has benefits for your heart and mind.
These are just a few of the many benefits that you can receive from mindfulness meditation or any other sort of meditation. The only negative that I can find in regards to the practices of mindfulness or any other meditation modality is if you do not do them.
