How To Develop Emotional Intelligence
Learning how to deal with fear can be challenging. Has fear ever crept into your life? Everyone has had this emotion rear its ugly head at times. What is life all about for you? Do you experience it to the fullest? If not what holds you back from doing the things you long to do? There are lots of excuses that one could come up with but most of them stem back to fear.
It doesn’t take a psychic to know that if you release fear and doubt you will find happiness and ease. You don’t need to be shaking in your boots to be experiencing fears. It can show up whenever we try something new. Change is when doubt and fear often appear. This is very common.
Are You Suffering From Your Own Emotional Abuse?
Even the bravest of us face these two negative states of mind at times and sometimes we do not even aware of it. Your Fears and Doubts, for the most part, are just apprehension of something negative happening. It can also be caused by an issue from the past showing up once more, in your mind that is. There are so many different types of fears.
When people come to me for help much of the time it is fear-driven. Releasing fear and doubt and moving forward can be difficult. Here are some fear-based issues that I come across often:
- How to overcome fears spiritually?
- How to overcome depression?
- What anxiety is?
- How to overcome stress?
- How to overcome emotional pain?
Before you learn how to deal with fear negativity can run like a raging river in your thoughts if you do not learn to manage it. Get control! Taking charge is exactly what we discuss today. So the question is not if you have experienced it, it is how to deal with fear.
How To Overcome Fear And Anxiety
Let’s look at helping release fear and doubt and move forward.
Fear is one of the base emotions. The other being Love. Both of these are immensely strong emotions. Both can affect your spirit, mind, and body in extreme ways.
What kind of experiences can cause fear in your life. Fear activates powerful responses, especially during emergencies: for example being you are in an accident or taking a bad fall.
Fear can also penetrate your being in nonphysical nondangerous forms such as taking tests, speaking in public, starting a new position, first dates and one of the more common events are doctor visits. Regardless of whether the stimulus is real or just in your mind, it can take its toll.
How To Overcome Anxiety Naturally
When we are facing a perceived fear Anxiety can be used as a synonym. This is used more when the threat itself is not physical in form and generally deals with something that may happen; “if I do this then this will happen and that would be terrible”.
Regardless of the types of fear that you are facing; real danger or perceived duration can last for a very short period or can haunt you your whole life as in the case of phobias. Fear can affect any area of your life and result in sleep issues, eating disorders, lack of concentration all the way up to high blood pressure and heart issues.
Many people give in to their fears and allow them to ruin their lives or at minimum reduce their level of happiness. Fear and love based emotions can be present at the same times. You cannot possibly feel elated and fearful at the same time.
Have You Ever Seen A “Dark Light” As Opposed To A “Flash Light”?
It is very much like light and dark. If you are in a dark room, fear, then there is no light present, love. If the room is filled with light there is no darkness. This is a powerful awareness.
You can become overcome by fear and do your utmost to avoid any stressful situation in your life. However, this can hold you back from experiencing life. Living in fear and anxiety is terrible. It can keep you stuck. There are ways that you can learn how to deal with fear so that you can do the things you want to do and not because you are trying to avoid the stresses of what you may consider fearful encounters.

The good news is that in most cases fear is not real and learning how to deal with fear can be accomplished. The word FEAR itself can be seen as an acronym, False Evidence Appearing Real. What is making you afraid may not be real so why fear it. The easiest way to remove fear from any equation is to go through it. Just do it!
If you fail, you fail. But you have at least tried and the fear has dissipated. You have learned things about your attempt that you can use to master the challenge at your next attempt. If everyone was afraid to fail and let that stop them we would be sitting in the dark. Edison would never have invented the light bulb. He made 1000 attempts at creating his invention.

Fear And Anxiety Symptoms
Whether you are feeling what most people call fear, the signs of fear and the symptoms of anxiety are similar:
- Heartbeats become faster than normal.
- You start to breathe faster and in shallower breaths.
- Perspiration begins.
- Your muscles tense up.
- The mind whirls.
- Hesitation to act.
Now a quick look at true fear and the body reactions. Your child is playing by the road and runs into oncoming traffic to retrieve a ball. What do you do? Well, what happens generally is that your adrenaline rushes in, you move very rapidly thinking perfectly straight, and grab your little one saving them from imminent danger. Then once you had a little time to think of what may have happened FEAR (False Evidence Appearing Real) takes over going over scenarios of what could have happened and slight shock takes hold. Yet the initial reaction was true fear. This is how we react to fear and have since we crawled out of the mire.
There are lots of stimuli for fear in normal life, and you may not always be able to determine what the issue is. The fear may persist even if you cannot determine the problem. This is the brain’s job. Protection! Thinking up all the ways a dinosaur can attack you once you leave the cave. Your brain makes sure that you always ready for anything may, possibly, could, or might scenarios.
How To Deal With Fear?
Non-avoidance…Running never helps because where ever you are that is where you are and you are still you. Susan Jeffers says it best, “Feel the Fear and Do It Anyway“. More than 85% of what you fear never happens. Of the remaining 15 %, 80% of them found that they could deal with the issues without too much effort. So face your fear if you can.
Self-awareness… Know who you are. Find ways to investigate your truth, your strengths. A great way to do this is by learning how to Meditate. Specifically a guided meditation for fear and anxiety. There are so many benefits of daily meditation. You are Spirit at the core and Spirit is all-powerful. Learning to access this power can relieve you of much anxiety and stress that you currently feel is fear. The emotional, mental, and physical benefits of meditation are so very numerous.

Mind-Altering Substances… Using drugs, alcohol, or other forms of substances that can affect your mental and emotional stability should be avoided especially when you are facing “fearful” issues. These can add to the problem as opposed to solving it.
Affirmations… Learning how to control negative emotions can be as simple as using positive affirmations for anxiety and depression regularly. Especially when negative thoughts creep into your mind these can help. These can replace the negativity. Our mind is habitual. If you are thinking negatively it will continue doing so and the opposite is true. If you start filling it with positiveness it will give you more of the same.
Therapy… Occasionally when you haven’t discovered how to deal with fear, when all else has failed you may need help. This is when you have hit a wall and can’t move forward. A therapist, spiritual leader, coach, or doctor can assist you with some form of assistance. There are even support groups available to work and sustain you in your time of need. This takes letting go of the ego.
Love… Here is a very simple fix to many of the fears or fear-based emotions such as anger, hate, jealousy, or envy that you may encounter. Love them instead of learning how to deal with fear. Remember I spoke about how love and fear cannot co-exist. If you consciously turn your mind to love, get out of your head and into your heart, and send this love out energetically fear must dissipate. You can even open your arms and hug the fear or anger, actually hug it, and it will disappear instantly.
Live In The Present…We have established that much of the fear, doubt, and anxiety you experience is conceptual. It is happening in your mind only. It isn’t real. By staying in the present you can avoid past fears and future fears.

Guilt, regret, resentment, grievances, sadness, bitterness, and all forms of non-forgiveness are caused by too much past, and not enough presence.” – Eckhart Tolle
Letting Go Of Fear And Anxiety
Regardless of how you do it winning the battle over fear is so worth it. As stated by Echart Tolle “It is not uncommon for people to spend their whole life waiting to start living.” This is the only fear that you should concern yourself about. Remember always “what you focus on grows so focus on the positive”.
