Are You A Victim of Your Own Making?
So let us look at the truth about the concept of being a victim of circumstances. Bad things happen to good people as the adage goes. At some point in time, you will most probably experience very unpleasant life circumstances that you did not see coming whatsoever.
First the victim definition as per Wiktionary:
- Anyone who is harmed by another.
- A living creature which is slain and offered as human or animal sacrifice, usually in a religious rite; by extension, the transfigurated body and blood of Christ in the Eucharist.
- An aggrieved or disadvantaged party in a crime ;(e.g. swindle.)
- A person who suffers any other injury, loss, or damage as a result of a voluntary undertaking.
- An unfortunate person who suffers from a disaster or other adverse circumstance.
- A character who is conquered or manipulated by a villain.
What Is A Victim Of Circumstances?
When we examine the term “victim of circumstance” it usually indicates that you have experienced some form of injury. It can also mean that you have been inconvenienced in some manner or have lost something important without any input from you personally.
Occasionally a failing to carry something out, some form of a task, can also cause you to be perceived as a victim. In the largest sense, the term victim applies to someone who experiences some form of trouble, however, had no part in causing it.
Basically, you had no control over the occurrence or outcome of any specific event. It implies that if the conditions of the situation had been different, you would not be in turmoil.
Yet, a criminal who is arrested and tossed in prison may also declare to be a victim of circumstances. In that example, the term might be considered to be misused even considered to be ironic. Often people tend to use this expression as justification for bad actions or conduct. Poor luck and lack of personal control are also often used as justification for an unwanted outcome to an event or action, “I had no choice, I had to …”
Victim Of Circumstances Situations
-More often being in the wrong place at the wrong time can also result in an individual being considered a victim of circumstances.
-An individual can also be born into extreme poverty and require to take measures that someone who was more blessed would not have to take.
-It can also mean that a person is born in a specific area of the world that does not allow them to grow or expand personally and do not have the means to change their circumstances.
-Another instance of what can be considered being a victim of circumstances is being born with some form of affliction or attaining such through an accident that causes major life issues.
-The wrongful conviction of criminal activity can also be a case of an individual becoming a victim of circumstances.
Victim Of Circumstances Justification
Bad things can happen to anyone of us at any time. What we do when these occurrences greet us is the key to life no matter the circumstances. Yet we are all alive living in a world that is constantly throwing challenges at us. One person’s challenge may be another’s opportunity. The difference in many cases is whether or not you chose to victimize yourself as opposed to running with the moment. This would be considered the opposite of victim mentality. Whether you chose to lie down and give in or do your utmost to break through determines whether or not you allow yourself to become a Victim.
Again I will site a popular adage, “It is not how many times you fall, it is how many times you get up that really counts.” A true, self-anointed, victim has real problems moving forward once unfortunate circumstances strike. Victims have a self-centered attitude towards pain and thus will have challenges getting past the issue at hand regardless of how small or large. Suffering to these people is a foregone conclusion when actually it can be and is an option. Yes, this sounds too easy but it is true. We all have the capability of choosing whether to suffer in a state of emotional or spiritual agony. Circumstances don’t define you your choices do!
Grounding and forgiveness also play big roles in allowing life to go on and the blessings to once more be recognized. Learning how to deal with someone who plays the victim whether it is you or another can be tough. Working with people and discovering how to deal with someone who plays the victim can help both your voyage through life and theirs. Acceptance and personal responsibility can be a path on the road to realizing how not to be a victim of circumstances
Whether you are a victim of circumstances or not you can leave the victim mentality behind and start living a completely different, fulfilling life. Many have so can you!
